Tony Desare, Ed Decker and I just returned from playing in Athens, Greece.  We played for a dinner at a private event.  The Gypsy Kings followed us. (not kidding)   It was my first time to Greece but hopefully not my last - I'll have to make a point to get to the Greek Islands one day.   

I played piano and sang at the annual benefit to help raise funds for the Health Advocates for Older People last Tuesday.  Tom Hubbard joined me on bass.  We were outside on top of a building on Central Park West.  It rained a bit so we had to pack it in but resumed after it cleared up.  Thanks Tom for being a good sport. 

Todd Murray has invited Sean Harkness, Alex Rybeck and me to play some gigs in Los Angeles and Palm Springs next week.  Todd will be debuting his brand new show, at Blame It On Midnight, Palm Springs, CA on Thursday July 8, at Hollywood's Catalina Jazz Club Friday and Saturday, July 9 &10, then to Feinstein's At The Regency, Tuesday, July 13. CROON promises to be a great show with romantic tunes from the American canon of the last century as well as contemporary tunes by Dillon, Leonard Cohen and a new tune written by Todd and Alex Rybeck. Awesome trio headed by Alex Rybeck will include Sean Harkness on guitar and Steve Doyle on bass.

Tony Desare, Ed Decker and I will be playing at the Blue Note the first week in August in Tokyo.  We had a blast performing at the Cotton Club and hope to see some familiar faces because the two clubs are operated by the same organization.
